ABOUT
BESMA PRESS
If you've found your way here, welcome.
My name is Heather, and I created Besma Press from a desire to be more intentional about making space for God- not only in prayer, but in the ordinary rhythm of everyday life.
Like many Christians, I know how easily the days can become full. We move from one thing to the next, often with every intention of slowing down, opening our Bible, sitting quietly with God, or simply being still in His presence.
Besma Press grew from a desire to create a gentle rhythm around those moments.
Each month, we'll explore a different theme rooted in Scripture through a thoughtfully prepared publication- something to read slowly, return to throughout the month, and carry with you beyond the page.
Alongside each publication is a 30-hour prayer candle, poured in the same signature fragrance each month. Over time, my hope is that its scent becomes intertwined with your own quiet moments with God- the mornings spent over Scripture, the prayers whispered before the day begins, the coffee that grows cold while you linger a little longer.
And perhaps, eventually, that same fragrance becomes a reminder of His presence outside those quiet moments, too.
Burn it while you cook dinner, while your home is full of people, while you work, or during the ordinary routines of the day. The pace may change, but His presence does not.
I didn't create Besma Press because I have mastered the practice of slowing down.
I created it because I haven't.
Like you, I am learning to make room for God in a life that can move very quickly. Besma is an invitation to create that space together- one month, one publication, and one quiet moment at a time.
The name Besma comes from the Aramaic/Syriac word associated with fragrance, perfume, and aromatic spices- a fitting name for something created around the relationship between fragrance, prayer, and remembrance.
Before founding Besma Press, I founded Mobaak Aroma Co. in 2017, where I've spent the past several years creating bath, body & home fragrance products with intention- for clean living. Fragrance and candle making have long been part of my life, and Besma feels like a natural continuation of that work, this time created specifically around making space for God.
Thank you for being here.
I'm grateful we get to make space for Him together.
